How runway is computed

For each issuer, the latest reported us-gaap:NetCashProvidedByUsedInOperatingActivities duration fact and the latest us-gaap:CashAndCashEquivalentsAtCarryingValueinstant fact (at or before the OCF period's end date) are pulled directly from the XBRL fact store. Average monthly burn is computed as −OCF / months_in_period, where the period is inferred from the OCF duration (≈ 3 months for a quarterly fact, 12 for an annual). Months-of-runway is then cash / monthly_burn.

Severity bucketing: extreme = under 3 months, high = 3–6 months, medium = 6–12 months, low= 12+ months. Issuers with positive operating cash flow are excluded — they aren't running out of cash. Issuers reporting zero or negative cash balances are also excluded; those filers typically show up on the delinquent-filers or delisting screens with related distress signals.

The figure is a snapshot in time and assumes the average burn from the most recent reported period continues unchanged. Real burn rates change with revenue ramps, cost cuts, restructurings, and one-time items. Always cross-reference against the actual filing for context — the runway figure is a screening signal, not an underwriting conclusion.
